During the status-report portion of the special meeting board members asked for an updated listing of trail gaps throughout Highland Village so the board can evaluate remaining funds and determine whether to use CDC resources for infill work beyond the prioritized projects.
One board member said, "some of us is I've already talked about the possibility of sunsetting CDC when the trail veil projects are completed," signaling that the board is considering winding down CDC activity after core trail and veil projects are done. Phil noted that all trail gaps are identified in the trails master plan update and asked the board to direct staff on specific areas to focus on; staff offered to provide targeted updates and coordinate grant opportunities.
The meeting closed after the board expressed appreciation for staff work and requested follow-up materials on trail gaps and priorities.
