The Nanakuli/Waianae Neighborhood Board held its annual officer elections during the July 16 meeting. Nominations, seconds and voice votes resulted in continuation of the current executive officers.
S1 nominated Samantha Decor for chair and the board took a voice vote: "The ayes have it," the chair announced after a call for the question. Naomi Hanohano was nominated and seconded for vice chair and was approved by voice vote. Malia Augustine was nominated and seconded as secretary and approved by voice vote. Mapuana Tector was nominated and seconded as sergeant-at-arms and likewise confirmed by voice vote.
The board also approved the June 18, 2024 regular meeting minutes by voice vote and received committee attendance updates for June. The chair thanked continuing officers for their service.
Why it matters: Officer elections set leadership for committee assignments and board governance for the coming year; the votes were conducted by nomination, second and voice vote, as recorded in the minutes.
