Council granted the requested support and offered additional help promoting the group's youth event in June.
Separately, council discussed the beer‑tax fund (about $32,000 available) that had supported a youth CTC program; several members moved to reallocate that revenue to the police department for public-safety expenditures such as DUI enforcement. The motion to move beer‑tax receipts to police funding passed on a council vote.
