Honolulu Fire Department gives June incident counts and heat‑safety warning

He said Hawaii's high humidity can make heat illnesses more likely and recommended residents keep cool, drink water and check on neighbors. He also pointed attendees to resilientoahu.org and heat.gov for detailed guidance.
Board members raised one follow‑up about debris from a house fire that neighbors reported may be spreading into yards; the firefighter said removal of fire debris is typically not part of the department's duties but that the department would follow up and get back to the caller with next steps.
The HFD's local incident counts and safety guidance were presented to inform neighbors about recent risks and to provide practical prevention steps during prolonged humid heat.
