Resident Kayla Pixen told the council she had not received promised follow-up about the crosswalk at Cordero and Cloud Peak and pressed for a timeline, saying, “Our kids' lives are too important to be put on hold.” The chair and staff acknowledged delays and confirmed the city had ordered flashing lights for that crossing.
City staff later asked the council to ratify the expenditure to install a rectangular rapid flashing beacon (RRFB) at Cordero and Cloud Peak, identifying the installation cost as $13,600. A motion to ratify the $13,600 expenditure was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote. Staff estimated about four weeks from ordering to installation and said they will provide follow-up on scheduling.
