Library Director Bill Meakin presented three related items: (A) acceptance of donated funds to replace the rusting children’s room door and options for how the town accepts and pays the vendor; (B) acceptance of the Friends of the Lisbon Library donation to support a 25th‑anniversary children’s room celebration and associated purchases; (C) authorization to expend $175 from the Linda Patrick Memorial Fund to purchase flowers for front flower boxes.
Meakin said the library’s special reserve account is set up for donations and that the town could receive funds and pay a contractor from that account or the donors could contract directly. Councilors approved acceptance of the donations and authorized the modest memorial expenditure. The Friends of the Lisbon Library also plan a cleanup day on May 31 to prepare the children’s garden.
Council thanked the donors and Friends group and noted community generosity in supporting library projects.
