Rochester Crossing and Chamberlain Park utility work moves toward July 31 milestones; city reviews extensions

Staff updated the board on several ongoing utility projects, including Rochester Crossing and the Chamberlain Business Park area. As of the day before the meeting, crews believe they have installed all lines and repaired prior water penetrations; staff said they were verifying work with a camera inspection and expected to start stormwater installation the following week if the verification succeeded: "as of yesterday, they think they have all their, tour, lines in and not leaking," staff reported.
Commonwealth and city crews continue commercial tie-ins in the Wendy's/Starbucks/Burger King corridor and plan remaining restoration work and a final run to the Walmart/State Route 14 area. Staff noted a July 31 target for final restorations and Metro Meadows separation, but said a formal request for a 30-day extension had not yet been filed by the contractor and would require formal Board consideration once submitted. Rex Construction will return next week to finish remaining lead service replacements, and staff will monitor weather and nonworking days noted during the bid period.
