Madison County officials reviewed preparations on July 1 for the County's 250th Anniversary celebration scheduled for July 2 and affirmed plans to proceed while taking precautions for forecasted extreme heat. Supervisors Nancy Sharman and Jud Buchanan said vendors, volunteers and guests had committed to participate, and staff described coordinated plans for cooling stations, water, misting stations, emergency medical services and law enforcement.
Board members supported moving forward with the event while stressing contingency plans and public-safety measures. No vote was required; staff will continue coordinating logistics and safety resources for the event.
