The Eastern Pulaski Community School Corporation board approved an agreement to provide administrative assistance and mentoring to new superintendent Chad Smekens. The Chair introduced the item and a board member moved approval; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote.
Dr. Crimmins, speaking about the mentorship arrangement, clarified the support would not be limited to a single monthly session: "I don't think it's just 1 day a month. It's just as needed. It may be more earlier and less later," he said. Board members expressed appreciation for the plan to support the superintendent's transition.
