Commission hears downtown-visit takeaways and plans for 7,600-copy flyer and small grant

Commission members described a visit to Goshen's downtown, noting pedestrian activity, outdoor seating and traffic-calming moves as strategies Rochester could emulate. Grant said, "I thought it was incredible... the amount of people walking along the sidewalks," and commissioners said such changes could help Rochester attract more foot traffic and businesses.
Amy reported Versus Engineering provided a marketing flyer at no cost and Adrian Railroad's contact will print 7,600 copies for distribution. "Versus Engineering actually, at no cost to us, have, created this flyer for us... 7,600 copies are needed," Amy said. Amy also said Kurt Garner (Indiana Landmarks contact) located a small $4,000 grant applied for by the Rochester and Erie Foundation to support depot restoration and match funding. The commission said it will continue outreach and convene committee members to move downtown initiatives forward.
