The board voted to adopt the HIB report that had been previously presented; the superintendent said there was no new information since that earlier report and that letters had been sent to affected families. "The one being voted on tonight is the one that was reported last month...there's been no new information since then, and letters have gone out," the superintendent said.
District staff member Miss O'Mara presented the Student Safety Data System summary for the September–December reporting window. She said the elementary school recorded zero HIB incidents, zero restraints and zero suspensions, and three staff trainings; the middle school had one substantiated HIB incident, two restraints, zero out-of-school suspensions and three trainings. "During this window the elementary school did not have any incidents of HIB to report…The middle school had one reported incident of HIB which was substantiated," Miss O'Mara told the board.
