Board confirms 29 elementary classrooms to receive air conditioning; playground delayed to October

Superintendent Dr. Ryder told the Hardyston Township Board of Education that electricians have finished the electrical upgrades and that air-conditioning units have been delivered for the elementary school. "So all the classrooms will have the air conditioning," a board member noted during the update.
Board members asked about schedule and staffing; one member and others confirmed the number 29 was the count of rooms to be outfitted. On the playground project, the facilities contractor indicated work coordination between demolition, landscaping and installation will push the new playground’s opening to October, meaning the old playground will remain in use at the start of the fall term. Board members said they expect a two-to-three week turnaround once demolition begins.
The board expressed gratitude to staff—particularly the elementary principal—for coordinating safety drills and the project logistics during the summer. Administrators said they will continue to update the board and post timelines to the district’s public updates page.
