Residents press board on illegal game rooms, encampments and accessibility problems

During the public comment portion, resident Nina Burke reported that encampments cleared after May have started to return near Cartwright Park and that illegal game rooms remain a problem nearby. Another resident described trash and tenting on a burned lot (reported as 1525 Street) and repeated failures of sidewalk maintenance that have damaged wheelchairs and created access problems.
Chair Ian Ross and other members urged residents to share contact information with staff and to engage with HPD and council offices for follow up. Ross also reminded the community that a City Council resolution has established a task force on illegal game rooms and encouraged residents to apply to serve as the three community representatives on that task force.
