Public Works Director Mike Maple reported inspecting alleys and finding several garbage cans tipped over with lids still latched; he said in one area near the museum there was little trash on the ground, indicating improvement, but other locations remain problematic. He urged continued community education and said staff will spread the word about proper use.
Committee member (S2) raised that some can styles do not work well for elderly residents and asked whether the city could swap or provide alternate can types and whether truck/mechanism compatibility would scale across routes. Maple said he would contact Ryan (presumably the crew lead) about availability and check stock at Public Works.
