He said that bundling the work allows the city to fix connections and problem lines in one mobilization and specifically called out 22nd west of White Avenue as an area with “really crooked service lines” that the project will address.
Maple said the North Racine work was delayed due to material shortages but that the contractor expects to be substantially complete by late September or mid‑October. “They say they’re gonna be done by the end of September. I think it’ll be mid October when they’re done,” he said. He also told the committee the decision to include stormwater repairs followed DEQ review, which flagged inlets currently tied to the sanitary sewer as illegal and required the town to correct them rather than leave them in the engineered project.
