Maupin council authorizes up to $5,000 for second engineering review of Water System Master Plan

Councilor Rob Miles moved to authorize staff to spend up to $5,000 for a licensed engineering firm to review the WSMP and provide prioritized recommendations; Councilor Mike Foreaker seconded. The motion passed unanimously (7‑0).
The council discussed possible funding timelines and staff noted the city hopes to submit a Letter of Intent for funding to Business Oregon by either Sept. 15 or Dec. 15. The second opinion is intended to produce prioritization that aligns with Maupin's goals and budget before pursuing external grants or loans.
