Julia, speaking as PTA president, addressed the board during public comment to outline the PTA’s largest fundraiser of the year, the Hornet Hustle.
She said the elementary-school event will be Nov. 12 and the middle‑school event Nov. 14. “Last year, we raised $12,000 and this year we want to double it,” Julia said, adding that as of the morning of the meeting the PTA had raised $2,400 and had 93 students registered. She described incentives for students—including a fire‑truck ride to school donated by the local fire department—and urged community participation to support teacher mini‑grants and other school programs.
The board acknowledged the comment and noted the PTA’s outreach plans; no board action was required.
