North Hills board appoints Joe Laslovic to fill seat left by Dr. Anthony Hall

The vote followed an earlier failed motion to appoint Elizabeth Neece; one board member noted a procedural reason for opposing that motion, saying, "I just wanna note that I'll be a no vote because she did not submit her resume and cover letter as required by the application process." Board members discussed continuity with Dr. Hall's priorities, candidates' prior public-service experience, and the temporary nature of the appointment (service through December 2027).
Board members recorded affirmative votes from Miss Cazara, Mister Little, Missus Mathis, Missus Rennebeck, Mister Santucci, Missus Spade, Missus Stevens and Missus Elwood on the successful nomination. The board did not adopt the first motion to appoint Elizabeth Neece; that motion failed and the board then considered additional candidates in order until the successful nomination carried.
The new appointee will serve until the next relevant election cycle; the board announced its next regular meeting for July 30, 2026.
