City manager lays out interim plan after landscape/security contract cuts; short‑term RFP planned

He described a rotating schedule by weekday to ensure every park receives mowing and periodic edging and spraying: Strawberry/Whitmore/Rino/Don Pedro on Mondays, Independence/Berry Grove/Roding/Redwood on Tuesdays, River Bluff/Ochoa/Neal/Riverview/Persephone on Wednesdays and Smyrna on Thursdays.
Williams said staff will issue a short-term request for bids for August–October maintenance to fill capacity gaps during peak growth months and may return proposals to council for a one-time use of reserves or authorization under manager signing authority. He acknowledged this is an interim response while long‑term procurement and staffing are evaluated.
Residents in public comment urged transparent online reporting (Measure L project updates) and clear timelines for CIP and slurry seal projects; staff promised to post an updated, public-facing project and maintenance schedule.
