City staff said Musco’s system uses factory‑aimed luminaires and proprietary ball‑tracker technology intended to provide consistent infield and outfield light levels.
City engineer Michael Beltran presented the proposal and confirmed the agreement covers design, aiming, installation, testing and a 25‑year warranty. He told council the system “is designed to provide average maintained lighting levels of approximately 50 foot candles in the infield and 30 foot candles in the outfield.” Council members probed prior installation problems, whether the previous contractor (Access Electric) had met its obligations and whether the city would hold the contractor accountable; staff said Access Electric has been responding to warranty issues and that Musco’s warranty and single‑point responsibility model justified the selection. The council approved the contract on roll call.
