Asked about the Colfax–Pullman trail, he said the problem is mainly a dispute over property ownership and that he does not want taxpayers' dollars spent on legal fees: "I do not want taxpayers' dollars to be wasted on lawyer fees to resolve it," he said, adding that private individuals could pursue the matter if they chose. The council did not take action on the trail matter during the meeting.
