City Administrator Matt Hammer told the Colfax City Council Sept. 15 that the Washington State Department of Transportation notified the city of a lane closure on the north side of the Highway 26 bridge after a vehicle struck the cement bridge structure last week.
Hammer said WSDOT will place a reader board detouring traffic and that he is coordinating with WSDOT to get the alternate route that brings traffic down Fairview reflected on Google Maps. No timetable for repairs or reopening was provided at the meeting.
Council members were not recorded taking additional action; staff will continue coordination with WSDOT and alert the public through city channels as detours are implemented.
