Wayne County to continue Clarke County 28E for public health services and consider regional fiscal-agent RFP

Chair Chris Moore reported that the Public Health Nursing (PHN) board voted to continue a 28E agreement with Clarke County for nursing services and also to continue a 28E agreement for Environmental Health Services for fiscal year 2027. Moore told supervisors the PHN board is pursuing continuity of services under those agreements.
Moore said Wayne County is preparing to submit a request for proposal to serve as the fiscal agent for a seven-county region that is being developed. He also said he would like the Public Health Board reduced to five members now that the Public Health and Homemakers merger is operating smoothly. No formal board action on the RFP or board size was recorded at the July 7 meeting.
