Selectboard designates Jeff Duda as Forest Fire Warden after change in state law
Summary

The Legislature recently enacted Act 162, which changed eligibility for Town Forest Fire Wardens to require the warden be a Fire Chief. Jeff Duda agreed to serve in that role for Londonderry; the Selectboard moved to designate him as the Town’s Forest Fire Warden and the motion passed unanimously.
Town Administrator Aileen Tulloch and Duda told the board the change arrived with minimal local input and short notice—announced six days before enactment and shortly before the July Fourth holiday—leaving many local officials surprised. The board recorded the designation and authorized the Chair to sign the necessary documentation.
