Council approves ordinance setting city EV-charging rates

The council voted by roll call; the ordinance passed 9 in favor, with one member participating virtually.
City leaders said the adoption applies to chargers that the city owns and maintains within municipal limits. The ordinance was approved on final passage and will be implemented by the appropriate city department once administrative details are completed. The council did not amend the fee amounts during the final-passage vote.
The council’s action follows prior committee review; the city did not provide an immediate estimate of annual revenue from the new fees. Implementation details and billing practices were left to city staff to finalize.
