The Milton-Freewater City Council on March 23 authorized the purchase of 20 pole-mount transformers for inventory from General Pacific Inc. in the bid amount of $60,498. Electric Superintendent Richard Jolly presented the procurement, saying staff solicited bids, received six offers from four companies, and found General Pacific’s bid to be the most efficient and cost-effective after loss calculations.
Councilor John Lyon moved to authorize the purchase; Councilor Destiny Jensen seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The purchase authorization included the caveat that the bid price is subject to change from government tariff surcharges, duties, or supplier price adjustments. The council adjourned the special session to a work session at 6:28 p.m.
