Select Board keeps current auditor for now after 2019 bid; contract has one year remaining

The Town Administrator told the Select Board that the town's auditing services were put out to bid in March 2019 and that many firms were solicited; only two bids were returned. The school and the treasurer recommended remaining with the incumbent auditing firm, and the administrator said the contract price was good for up to three years with one year left. After discussion, the board agreed there was no reason to go out to bid this year.
Members noted that although the town had used the same firm for about 10 years, five different auditing individuals had performed the work over that span, effectively rotating auditors approximately every two years. The board did not take further action beyond deciding not to rebid at this time.
