The board approved parade permits for Lakeshore Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth (May 1), St. Casimir Parish (April 3) and St. Margaret Mary’s procession (April 3) contingent on Hammond Police Department route and safety recommendations. Engineering also presented a right-of-way permit for NIPSCO pole relocations near 170th Place and Columbia; staff said flagging would be used and recommended approval. Public Works submitted Culligan water service agreements and a garage-sale permit, both of which the board recommended approving.
Board members emphasized coordination with police for route adjustments and with engineering for safe flagging and traffic control during utility work.
