The council approved a resolution (recorded in the packet as resolution 26-800) to authorize a competitive public sale to provide temporary funding for the Huffman Drive and 61st Street projects, with bids to be opened on July 9 (council amended the published bid time to 9 a.m.). Council members discussed the aggregate not-to-exceed authority for the combined projects (presented as $980,000) and reviewed how earlier estimates compared with the latest bids or estimates.
Council also approved (4–0) a PEC agreement for materials testing and inspection associated with Huffman Drive. Staff explained that because the project uses roller-compacted concrete (RCC), the recommended PEC services (on-site inspection and materials testing) are necessary and were accounted for in the project estimates. The motion to approve the resolution and the PEC contract were both approved by unanimous voice vote.
