On July 8, 2026, the Jackson County Board of Commissioners held a public hearing and approved Order No. 183-26 to annex a parcel at 8644 Ramsey Road in Central Point to Jackson County Rural Fire Protection District No. 3. Senior Deputy County Administrator Joel Benton told the Board that landowners filed a petition with the County on May 28, 2026, requesting annexation; the parcel is described as Township 35 South, Range 2 West, Section 30, Tax Lot 700 and consists of approximately 52.55 acres. Benton referenced Oregon Revised Statute 198.857, which prescribes the annexation procedure by petition of landowners.
County Counsel reviewed the local comprehensive plan and reported that annexation to a fire district is consistent with the plan. Commissioner Rick Dyer opened and then closed the hearing at 9:36 a.m. after recording that no one wished to speak. Commissioner Randy Sparacino moved to approve Order No. 183-26; Commissioners Colleen Roberts and Rick Dyer voted aye and the motion passed.
