Members of the Newfield ATV Club asked the Acton board for approval of a town ordinance to allow ATV access on specific town roads so their regional trail network can pass through town.
Club representatives Derek Biehl and Jeff Hemeon distributed a draft ordinance and said they also need state approval to implement access. They requested a letter of recommendation from the Town of Acton; the board indicated that if it chooses to support the request a vote would likely occur in June and advised the club to check back after Dec. 14 so the new selectman can participate and the item can be scheduled alongside budget and warrant planning.
No motion was taken at the Nov. 10 meeting. The board flagged the item for a future agenda and asked the club to return with any additional materials and mapping showing requested routes.
