Operations Manager Matt Brooks asked the Board to approve purchasing 70 replacement UV lamps from Trojan Technologies for the Grass Valley Wastewater Treatment Plant’s Trojan UV disinfection system. Brooks said the lamps are replaced on a rotating basis at roughly 12,000 hours; the current set is near 10,500 hours and will require replacement soon to maintain disinfection effectiveness.
Trojan Technologies is the sole‑source manufacturer; Mr. Brooks advised that using aftermarket lamps would void warranties and present unnecessary risks. The total cost, including surcharges, freight, and tax, is $37,055.79 and will be funded from the 160 Supplemental Water Fund. District staff will perform installation.
