The Lake Arrowhead Community Services District Board adopted Ordinance No. 84 at its July 22 meeting to update the District’s Cross‑Connection Control Plan and comply with State Water Resources Control Board guidance. Field Operations Manager Nathan Porter told the Board the District has maintained a Backflow Prevention and Cross‑Connection Control Program for decades and that only minor updates are needed to conform to the new state guidance, including formally designating a certified Program Coordinator and developing an implementation plan.
Mr. Porter emphasized the ordinance’s public‑health purpose, noting that potable water always carries a potential risk of contamination and that the updated plan provides a clearer framework to safeguard water quality. The ordinance will take effect 30 days after adoption. The Board adopted Ordinance No. 84 by roll‑call vote with Ambrozic, Boydston, Brown and Wurm voting yes and Director Reynolds absent.
