Operations Manager Matt Brooks asked the board to approve the purchase of two new roll-off containers for sludge disposal at the Grass Valley Wastewater Treatment Plant. Brooks said each container can hold approximately nine tons of biosolids and that the existing units are over 10 years old, severely corroded, and beyond repair.
The purchase price for the two new containers is $47,952.73 (including freight and taxes), which is below the $60,000 budgeted amount for this purchase. Funding will come from the Wastewater Operating Fund. The board approved the purchase. "The purchase price for the two new containers is $47,952.73, which includes freight and applicable taxes," Brooks said.
