The Lake Arrowhead Community Services District Board voted to award the Hospital Road sewer replacement contract at its September 23 meeting. Engineering Manager Scott Schroder described the work to replace approximately 85 linear feet of 6-inch concrete sewer main with new 8-inch PVC, rehabilitate four manholes, and perform Caltrans‑compliant trench paving and erosion control because the alignment crosses beneath State Highway 189.
District staff recommended awarding the work to 316 Engineering and Construction for a construction price of $153,575 with contingencies up to 15%, producing a total project estimate of $187,362 that includes engineering and inspection costs. Funding will come from the Wastewater Capital Improvement Fund. The board approved the award. "Staff is recommending awarding the construction contract to 316 Engineering and Construction in the amount of $153,575 with contingencies not to exceed 15%." Schroder said. The Board also determined the project is exempt under the California Environmental Quality Act.
