DDW orders PFAS pilot; N2W contract amendment likely to raise engineering costs by about 10–15%

General Manager Catherine Cerri updated the Committee that additional PFAS samples were taken during recent creek flows and that laboratory results are pending. She said the Division of Drinking Water (DDW) has required a PFAS treatment pilot study, a requirement that generated substantial additional engineering work.
Cerri explained engineers must recreate as-built drawings for the Cedar Glen Water Treatment Plant because existing drawings are incomplete. The current N2W contract is approximately $750,000; staff said a pending amendment is expected to increase costs by roughly 10–15%. Staff plans to present revised figures to the Board before the next meeting.
