District reports October water use down nearly 20% year over year; year-to-date down about 64 acre-feet

Operations Manager Matt Brooks presented the District's monthly water-delivery report at the Nov. 11 meeting, noting October 2025 usage decreased 19.8% compared with October 2024 and year-to-date consumption through ten months was down about 5.8%, roughly 64 acre-feet. Brooks said the majority of the reduction came from lower use during July through October and pointed to reduced lake draw (about 121 acre-feet less than the prior year) and increased well production (approximately 26 acre-feet more).

Brooks also outlined changes in purchased and recycled supplies: purchases from CLAWA rose by roughly 15 acre-feet and recycled-water deliveries declined by about 27 acre-feet, largely because the Country Club curtailed irrigation in August through October. Board members asked clarifying questions; staff provided trend numbers and explained seasonal impacts rather than attributing the changes to a single operational cause.
