Council hires laborers, promotes supervisor for sewer relining project

The council appointed Daniel Hill and Ralph Newman effective Aug. 10, 2026, and Jared McCann effective Aug. 17, 2026, as full‑time laborers. A separate resolution appointed Shane Fuller as a full‑time laborer effective Aug. 17, 2026.
The council also promoted Matthew Crown to the position of working supervisor for the sewer relining project, effective Aug. 3, 2026, subject to submission and acceptance of required documentation by the Orange County Department of Human Resources. The resolutions cited recommendations from the director of public works and included salary as specified in the collective bargaining agreement.
All appointments and the promotion were approved by motion. The council noted these hires are tied directly to the sewer relining schedule and that the supervisor will oversee the crew hired for the project.
