District says it exceeded 2025 state water-use objective by 15%

General Manager Catherine Cerri told the Board the District met its 2025 Water Use Objective by 15%, driven in part by lower residential indoor use and managed system losses.
Cerri reported the District's residential indoor water use budget was 1,402 acre-feet per year while actual indoor usage was 920 acre-feet, representing a reported 14% reduction. She also said system water loss was maintained at 17 gallons per connection per day, below the budgeted 20 gallons. "The District met its 2025 Water Use Objective by 15% but will need to reduce consumption as the objectives become more stringent," Cerri said. She added that a Seasonal Population Variance application has been submitted and is pending approval.
Board members received the report and were briefed on outreach and conservation measures; staff noted future objectives will be stricter and additional reductions or adjustments may be required.
