The Town of Nutter Fort Council voted unanimously Aug. 13 to purchase a 2024 Ford F‑350 for the Public Works department using Sales & Use tax funding and to pay off the remaining balance on a 2015 Nutter Fort EMS ambulance.
Councilor Charlene Louk moved to approve the F‑350 purchase and Councilor Karen Phillips seconded; the motion carried after a unanimous vote. Louk also moved to pay off the ambulance with a second from Phillips; that motion likewise carried unanimously. Public Works Supervisor Taylor Keith told council two existing trucks are nearing 10–12 years old and that two replacements are planned with grant funding over the next year; the newly approved truck fills an immediate vehicle gap created by an interdepartmental reassignment.
Council approved specific outfitting expenses for EMS and Public Works separately. EMS outfitting quotes total $13,958.65 (emergency lighting $9,680.99; striping $2,935.00; medical equipment box $1,342.66), which the council authorized to be purchased incrementally at the Treasurer’s discretion. Public Works reported outfitting costs of $5,903.00 (snowplow assembly and harness $3,553.00; used radio $1,400.00; striping $950.00) and noted the 2024/2025 fiscal-year budget already includes snowplow and related equipment.
