The Sanilac County Board approved a comprehensive set of 2026 budget amendments under motion FA-098-26. The amendments list numerous revenue increases (for example, State Revenue Sharing—Public Safety increased by $50,710.40 and multiple interest/C.D. income lines were increased) and expense adjustments to contingency, payroll and other line items. The motion also established additional accounts (for example, 549-371-712.000 Cash in Lieu of Benefits and 274-328-709.000 FICA).
Commissioner Bill Sarkella moved the amendments and Commissioner John Moody seconded; the minutes record that the motion carried. The minutes provide a line-by-line record of the revenue and expense changes; these entries will be used by county finance staff to update the official 2026 budget.
