Residents press council on senior-housing maintenance; school official thanks city for playground help

During petitions and comments, Rick Chandler of 403 Oak Street urged the council to address ongoing maintenance issues at the PDWG senior housing building, citing repeated elevator outages and slow response to repairs for senior residents. Chandler said the elevator ‘‘came down, and it was in the yard for months,’’ and asked the administration to press managers to resolve recurring problems.
Rob Cochran, speaking on behalf of the Tipton School Board Corporation, thanked the mayor and council for assistance that helped the district replace an elementary-school playground on a tight schedule. Cochran said the city and county collaboration allowed the project to finish on time and under budget and presented a Blue Future Award to staff who supported the effort.
Council members and staff acknowledged both items; the developer and PWG representative offered to share work-order records and contact information to help resolve maintenance issues. Mayor suggested a photo opportunity to recognize the playground partnership.
