The Tipton City Board of Works took three recorded votes at the meeting: approval of the July 13 meeting minutes; approval of a temporary closure of Jefferson Street between Maine and Independence for Aug. 7 from 4–7 p.m.; and approval of a short-term closure Aug. 14–15 so an artist can paint a crosswalk leading to the public library.
All three motions were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote during the session. The Jefferson Street closure was approved with conditions requiring coordination with the fire department to maintain emergency access and use of movable barricades; the library crosswalk closure was approved with the street department's barricade plan.
