Belizzi also announced ongoing hiring work, including a special board meeting scheduled for Monday, Aug. 3 to fill an assistant principal position at Moran Middle School before the start of the school year. Important calendar dates shared with the board: new teacher orientation on Aug. 21; administrators return Aug. 13 with 2.5–3 days of professional development Aug. 24–26; first day of school for K–12 on Thursday, Aug. 27; and preschool beginning Tuesday, Sept. 1. Staff also plan to present draft educational specifications from consultants SLAM at the Aug. 24 meeting and discussed options for community forums and Google‑form input.
