Resident announces downtown sign dedication, invites public

Desire Toll, a resident of 210 Dixon Street, used the public-comment period to announce a downtown sign dedication planned for Wednesday at 3:00 p.m., saying the sign will be placed on the Starbucks building and will honor artist Lori Petland.
"We're going to honor Lori Petland who's the artist," Toll said, and thanked volunteers and local groups, including Discover Deer Lodge, for their help mounting the display. She described logistical steps already taken—sourcing plywood and coordinating lifts and crews—and said the event will be shared on Facebook and open to the public with refreshments served afterward.
Toll also noted that state Main Street director Mickey Zucker will be on a tour in the region and that organizers sought permission through the appropriate chain of command to schedule the dedication. She encouraged residents to attend and said organizers expected about 20 people but had posted the event widely.
