Winner School District board opens meeting, approves agenda, minutes and financial reports

The Winner School District 59-2 Board of Education convened at 7:00 p.m. Jan. 12 in High School Room 105, with President Mike Calhoon calling the meeting to order and leading the pledge of allegiance. Board members Mike Calhoon, Corey Audiss, Lynnelle Anderson, Julie Manke and Scott Meiners were present; Steve Kubik and Rusty Blare were absent.
The board heard no public input and had no additional agenda items. A motion by Julie Manke, seconded by Scott Meiners, to approve the agenda carried 5-0. The board then moved, by motion of Lynnelle Anderson and seconded by Corey Audiss, to dispense with a reading of the Dec. 8 regular meeting minutes and to approve them; that motion also carried 5-0. A subsequent motion to accept the district's financial reports was made by Scott Meiners, seconded by Lynnelle Anderson, and approved 5-0.
The actions clear the procedural business needed to proceed to the meeting's substantive items and establish the official attendance and record for the Jan. 12 meeting. The board adjourned at 9:19 p.m. following other business and approvals.
