Residents tell Heritage Pines CDD hazardous trees and debris need attention

During the public‑comment portion of the Feb. 18 meeting, resident Tom Martin asked about the district’s plans for Rolling Hills Loop and reported a dead tree near his property at 18906 Rolling Hills Loop that "has been there for two or three years" and is an eyesore. Chair Kathleen Lonergan said the District Engineer must determine whether crews can remove trees inside the wetland and asked Martin for the exact location so the engineer can investigate and coordinate with Grounds Superintendent Tim Gatz.
Another resident, Don Brothers, said a tree behind 11453 Heritage Point Drive is an invasive species that was significantly damaged by two recent hurricanes and that a debris pile left by a previous owner sits on CDD land. Stephen Putman inspected and photographed the area. The concerns raised during public comment were explicitly tied to Agenda Item 5; the Board later approved a $600 A‑Z Tree Service stump‑grind estimate to address removal behind 11453 Heritage Point Drive.
