At the start of legislation under Tab 7, staff presented two draft text amendments and asked commissioners to introduce them and send them to the planning commission for review. Amendment #1 to county ordinance 26‑05 would adjust supplemental standards for gas stations and allow the Board of Appeals to grant a variance permitting an entrance or exit as close as 75 feet from an intersection. Amendment #1 to county ordinance 26‑06 would increase the maximum impervious surface ratio in the suburban commercial district from 45% to 65% for uses in operation prior to 12/31/2025 (staff noted the original bill had proposed 85% and the amendment reduces that figure).
Commissioners agreed to introduce both amendments and to request planning commission recommendations. Staff said the planning commission would have 60 days to review and report back. These were introductions and referrals for review; there was no final adoption vote at the meeting.
