Pahrump RPC continues waiver request for Mazzell Lane shade structure to March 2025

The Pahrump Regional Planning Commission on Sept. 11 voted to continue a waiver request to allow a reduced front setback for a shade structure at 690 East Mazzell Lane until the March 12, 2025 RPC meeting. Staff told the commission the application was continued previously because Public Works is processing an abandonment of a strip of right of way behind the curb that could change lot lines and affect where the structure sits.
"Based on where that lot line ends up getting moved to, that's gonna affect where the structure sits on the property," planning staff said. Public Works staff said the surveys and map work are in progress but that the mapping, planning review and recording take time. The applicant indicated they were willing to accept a continuance. A motion to continue the item for six months, amended to set the hearing for March 12, 2025, passed 5–0.
The continuance preserves the commission's ability to act once Public Works completes the abandonment and associated map changes. If the applicant wishes to proceed earlier they may request the item be re-agendized, staff said.
