Council awards two roadway projects totaling about $1.18 million

Council approved awarding the 500 East Reconstruction (200 South to 1100 North) to Staker & Parson Companies with a base bid of $587,128.35 and authorized the Mayor to sign the Notice of Award, Notice to Proceed, and agreement.
Council also approved awarding the Murdock Drive waterline and roadway reconstruction (1500 East to 1600 East) to Hall Engineering and Construction for a base bid of $597,320.00. Public Works Director Neal Winterton said the Murdock project responds to long‑term flooding complaints in the neighborhood, will replace the waterline, and correct curb elevations to prevent future inundation. Both contracts came through the competitive bid process and include typical bonding and notice requirements; staff will manage construction and oversight.
